New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to restart the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates from September 19.
The finale of the IPL match is also to be held on October 15.
According to reports, the remaining matches of the IPL will be held in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
Sources said the BCCI will hold positive discussions with foreign boards and make available the players for the remaining games.
The BCCI on May 4 postponed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 indefinitely amid rising number of COVID-19 cases among players and support staff within 48 hours.
The decision was taken after the ground staff at the Arun Jaitley Stadium along with Sunrisers Hyderabad team’s Wriddhiman Saha, Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for coronavirus.
