Kia has entered the nameplate of its hatchback car ‘Soul’ in India. The Kia Soul might be being sold worldwide but it is yet to be launched in India.
With the registration of the ‘Soul’ nameplate, the carmaker is expected to launch the car in India. However, there is no confirmation from Kia regarding the launch of the car yet.
The Kia Soul EV was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 in India.
Talking about the dimensions of the car, it measures 4195mm x 1800mm x 1605mm in terms of length, width and height. The Kia Soul shares the same footprint as the Hyundai Kona Electric except for the tall-boy design.
The Kia Soul is available in petrol as well as electric variants. The standard variant is offered in a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated unit as well as a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol variant.
However, the Soul EV gets a choice of two battery pack sizes. While 64kWh is chosen for longer range, 39.2kWh is preferred for standard range. The larger battery pack is mated to a 201hp electric motor while the standard battery pack gets a 136hp electric unit.
