After an initial delay of a few months, the 2021 Skoda Octavia has finally been launched in India for Rs 25.99 lakh.
Automobile maker Skoda had postponed the launch of the fourth generation of the Octavia due to the sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country.
The new Octavia has been launched in two trims of Style and Laurin & Clement (L&K). While the Skoda Octavia Style will cost Rs 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Skoda Octavia Laurin and Clement will cost Rs 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The 2021 Skoda Octavia got a bunch of upgrades compared to its predecessor. The upgraded sedan will be longer and wider than its predecessor. The new Skoda Octavia will measure 4689mm in length, 1829mm in width, 1469mm in height and 2680mm in wheelbase. 4 in terms of designth The Octavia generation gets a new chrome grille, new headlamps and a new bumper design.
The Octavia gets a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster in the cabin. The steering wheel of the car is two spoke, which gives a unique feel to the driver.
The 2021 Skoda Octavia gets a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The engine produces a maximum power of 190PS and torque of 320Nm. However, unlike the previous generation of Octavia, the 2021 model does not get a diesel variant.
The sedan is available in five color schemes of Lava Blue, Candy White, Magic Black, Brilliant Silver and Maple Brown.
The Octavia will get tough competition from Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla in the Indian market.
